Dermal Filler Treatment

Fillers usually consist of a gel-like substance containing hyaluronic acid (HA) - a naturally occurring substance in the body that helps retain moisture and volume in the skin. The treatment is done by injections with a fine needle/cannula, in or under the skin or directly on the facial bones. Facial filler injections are usually painless, but may cause some discomfort or swelling after the injection.

Fillers or a Dermal Fillers are used to restore and build volume. The treatment is mainly used on the face to fill in wrinkles and fine lines, to increase volume in the cheeks, lips and cheekbones, to restore pouty lips and to give a more defined jawline.

The effect usually lasts between nine and 12 months, but can sometimes be much longer. The variation is individual and depends on the type of fillers used and where the injections are made, as well as on age, skin type and lifestyle.
